Lately, Anna Faris has gotten tons of attention because she just so happens to be married to one of Hollywood's hunkiest men, Chris Pratt. But when we think of Anna, her (handsome) husband isn't the first thing that comes to mind.

Since 2000, when she first demonstrated her comedic chops in the horror-spoof Scary Movie franchise, we've kept a very close, admiring eye on Anna.

Instead of falling prey to the typical rom-com fare of lady cliches, she's never been afraid to be silly, bold, and, yes, even a little bit raunchy.

In House Bunny—a film she conceived and pitched to 19 studios before Happy Madison picked it up—she plays an ex-Playboy model who slips into exorcist voices. Not exactly a sound we associate with traditional ingenues, which is exactly why we're drawn to her.

And it's apparently that offbeat brand of humor that drew Chris in too.

When the two met on the set of Take Me Home Tonight in 2007they bonded over a mutual interest in collecting peculiar insects.

Now the couple share another, considerably less quirky love: their 2-year-old son Jack.

In August 2012 Jack was born nine weeks early. Anna told REDBOOK, "My water broke in the middle of the night at seven months. We rushed to the hospital, and they were able to halt active labor with magnesium. I was at the hospital and the goal was to be in bed for four weeks… but on the seventh day, I went into labor again. I was in denial. For hours I was like, 'I'm just having indigestion.' Chris and I were so scared, but when Jack came out, even though he was so tiny, he looked so good to us."

She said that the experience of giving birth to a premature baby made her and Chris forge an even deeper connection.

"It's one of those things that drives you apart or makes you closer. I think that being a father is very meaningful and rewarding to Chris. He's a great dad. He's a little more serious than he was before. It forces your hand. You really have to become an adult."

Besides being a mother offscreen, Anna is also starring in the sitcom Mom. On the ongoing struggle to find a balance between working and parenting, Anna told us, "Motherhood is like a big sleeping bag of guilt." Once again, she keeps it real.

And if you're wondering what it's like to be married to a man who was, at least at one point, majorly devoted to sculpting his (incredible) abs, Anna said, "I just remember being grumpy because there was no food in the house. I love to cook really fattening things like steak and pasta and potatoes. I bake banana bread."

"But it's okay," she says. "I love Chris ripped and I love him a little rounder, too."
