Board of Visitors
The Board of Visitors (BOV) is the governing body of William & Mary
The Board of Visitors (BOV) is the governing body for William & Mary. The Governor of Virginia appoints individuals to serve four year terms in the service of the university.
The seventeen members of the Board of Visitors gather in Williamsburg several times each year to discuss matters of long-term planning and budget for William & Mary. The Richard Bland College Committee of the Board of Visitors also meets at these sessions. The Board of Visitors meets in Blow Memorial Hall and regularly engages the campus community through its eight standing committees, and the alumni community through participation at annual and special events.
