Right now, the world’s most advanced computer—the one between your ears—is busy reading, processing, thinking, and oh, yes, keeping your entire body functioning. Our brains are so sophisticated that we can simultaneously marvel at their complexity, fear the loss of their power, and take them entirely for granted.

But how much do you really know about how yours works? The truth is, for a long time, we didn’t know much, and talking about brain health was either mostly theoretical or just plain scary—Americans fear brain decline twice as much as physical decline.

Today, though, brain health research is wide-ranging and breakthroughs are booming. As part of Prevention’s commitment to bolstering your brain health and supporting the scientists who research it, we are presenting a 3-part webinar series in June 2021 (brain health month) with two trustworthy, forward-thinking organizations: HealthyWomen and the Women’s Alzheimer’s Movement.

“Maintaining a healthy brain is crucial for all aspects of healthy living and is essential for living a full and active life. As we age, our brain functions naturally change; however, this does not mean mental decline, dementia, or an Alzheimer’s diagnosis is inevitable,” says Beth Battaglino, CEO of HealthyWomen. New research is showing how we can protect our brains, which is especially crucial for women, who are at a greater risk of brain-related disorders. In fact, that’s what spurred Maria Shriver to found The Women’s Alzheimer’s movement, which is funding scientists’ important work.

To help you understand your brain better—and protect it—we’ve gathered leading experts to discuss the most relevant and fascinating information out there. “Our mission to offer hope and inspiration as we look towards the future,” Battaglino says.

So on Tuesdays in June (June 8, June 15, and June 22), join us at 12:00 p.m. ET/9 a.m. PT for a close look at different aspects of brain health: aging, caregiving, and what the future holds. Each session will last one hour, and will include time for your questions. Don’t miss your chance to hear directly from some of the best minds in brain health.
