Lisa Marie Presley died on Jan. 12 at age 54, just days after she appeared at the 2023 Golden Globe Awards to watch Austin Butler win big for playing her father in "Elvis." As soon as news broke, tributes to the singer, mother, and only child of Elvis began pouring in from friends, colleagues, and fans, with many sharing love and prayers for Lisa Marie's mother, Priscilla, and three daughters: Riley Keough, 33, and twins Harper and Finley Lockwood, 14. Her son Benjamin Keough died by suicide in 2020 at age 27.

On Jan. 13, "Elvis" director Baz Luhrmann and the film's star, Butler, released statements about Lisa Marie's death. Luhrmann shared a photo of Butler with the singer on his Instagram alongside a heartfelt caption. "Lisa Marie, we will miss your warmth, your smile, your love," the director wrote in part.

Meanwhile, Butler shared a statement with Variety. "My heart is completely shattered for Riley, Finley, Harper and Priscilla at the tragic and unexpected loss of Lisa Marie," the "Elvis" actor said. "I am eternally grateful for the time I was lucky enough to be near her bright light and will forever cherish the quiet moments we shared. Her warmth, her love and her authenticity will always be remembered."

Nicolas Cage, who was briefly married to Lisa Marie from 2002 to 2004, said in a statement to The Hollywood Reporter, "This is devastating news. Lisa had the greatest laugh of anyone I ever met. She lit up every room, and I am heartbroken. I find some solace believing she is reunited with her son Benjamin."

Tom Hanks — who stars in "Elvis" as Colonel Tom Parker — wrote in a joint statement with his wife, Rita Wilson, on Instagram, "Our hearts are broken with the sudden and shocking passing of Lisa Marie Presley tonight. Tom and I had spent some time with the family during the Elvis movie promotional tour. Lisa Marie was so honest and direct, vulnerable, in a state of anticipation about the movie. She spoke so eloquently about her father, what the movie meant to her, that it was a celebration of her dad."

A public memorial service for Lisa Marie took place Jan. 22 on the front lawn at Graceland Mansion, per the Graceland website. Deadline confirmed that she'll later be laid to rest at Graceland, next to son Benjamin, her father, and other members of her family.

A little over a week after the death of her friend, Judd spoke with Entertainment Tonight about how heartbroken she is over the passing of Lisa Marie. "I was so shocked, and it kicked my butt because she's 54 years old and I'm 58," she said. "And when you go through something like this, it's just bizarre. It's hard to comprehend."

Judd went on to explain why she's not a "thoughts and prayers" person, especially in the wake of her mother's death in 2022. "I'm not one of those people that says, you know, I'm praying for you, or, you know, my prayers and my condolences, because I've been going through it myself," she shared. "And it's so heavy. It's too heavy to talk about it right now. Maybe in some time, when we give it some time for things to settle. I just think, right now, I can't imagine what they're going through."

The country singer continued, "I know what I went through. And when people say stuff like, 'They're in a better place,' I don't want her to be in a better place. I want her to be here with me. That's selfish, but that's human response. So the human response for me is just love the ones you're with. Love the ones you're with. That and forgiveness, forgiveness, forgiveness. That's on my list every single day."

Our hearts are broken with the sudden and shocking passing of Lisa Marie Presley tonight. Tom and I had spent some time with the family during the Elvis movie promotional tour. Lisa Marie was so honest and direct, vulnerable, in a state of anticipation about the movie. She spoke so eloquently about her father, what the movie meant to her, that it was a celebration of her dad. She had her gorgeous daughters Finley and Harper with her who made us all laugh. She privately showed us her home, Graceland, and she made it feel like home to us. She was so gracious to us, Austin, Baz, and guests. If you haven't heard her music please go listen. She had a sultry voice, a power and tenderness, that I have always loved. Our hearts and our prayers go out to Riley, Harper, Finley , Danny @nava_rone and Priscilla. A mother should never have to lose a child. Lisa Marie lost her precious son Benjamin, Priscilla loses her only daughter. It's too much. Sending love to the family, prayers for peace and strength. Love, Rita and Tom.
