What Does Vet Physiotherapy Involve?
Veterinary Physiotherapy = complementary therapy carried out with veterinary consent. The aim is "to assist the body to heal itself", optimising the body's natural healing process.

A combination of the below depending on what we're hoping to achieve, your dog's response and preference. Some of these, including home/exercise modifications will form part of the Home Plan too. Full instructions (in writing or video) and demonstrations will be provided, so you don't need to try and remember.

I cannot recommend Harriet at Physio My Dog highly enough. In March 2020 Flynn was a fit, healthy and active 4 year old German Shepherd Dog. He enjoyed obedience, agility, scentwork, trailing, tracking and exploring Salisbury Plain for hours. One day he was reluctant to jump in the van. I lifted him in and thought nothing of it. Later that evening he was lame. I gave him pain relief and rested him but the slightest bit of exercise made him lame again and he was clearly in pain. X-rays and MRI scans diagnosed, amongst other things, spinal stenosis and hip dysplasia. At the worst point Flynn was terrifyingly close to being PTS because his quality of life was so poor!! We were lucky to get a referral to Harriet early. She has worked tirelessly (with an often reluctant/uncooperative Flynn) alongside the hydrotherapist and the referral vet to holistically treat Flynn and give him back a great quality of life. Harriet is calm, approachable, knowledgeable, professional and very passionate about her work. She has provided me with great support, practical advice and a great toolkit to help me help Flynn now and in the future. I can honestly say that Flynn would not be here today without you Harriet and we cannot thank you enough" SW, Flynn Owner

"I can’t thank Harriet enough for the care and attention given to our 4 year old Labrador Bailey helping her to recuperate after an operation for elbow dysplasia.
Bailey had limped for a long time prior to the operation & was considerably weaker on one side of her body as a consequence.
The massage & physio given to Bailey by Harriet along with home exercises Harriet advised in between sessions meant that after a couple of months Bailey was back to her usual self and enjoying long walks again. I particularly like the fact that Harriet comes to your house, I am sure this made it a more relaxing and enjoyable experience for Bailey.
I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Harriet to any pet owners considering this kind of treatment for their pets." Julie, Owner.

"Harriet is amazing ... not only with the treatment of my girl Maddie but she is also a huge emotional support for the owner :-)
Always just a message away of there is a worry. She is very sufficient when it comes to writing and sending reports to vets. Maddie loves her physio session with Harriet and I can only highly recommend Harriet." Tammy, Owner.

"Thank you Harriet. You have truly made such a difference for Rupert, he’s looking and moving better and it’s also been a great experience for me to learn how to support him and we are closer than ever! He has improved so much and I can really see a difference. Thank you" Gemma, Owner
