Advertising Account Executive

We have a unique opportunity for highly motivated sales professionals, who can drive sales by developing referral partnerships, cultivating relationships and implementing effective marketing strategies. Individuals will represent The Philadelphia Tribune and its newspaper, magazine and digital products in the Greater Philadelphia region. This position is ideal for someone with inside sales experience seeking to advance their career. Competitive Salary/Commissions

 Duties and Responsibilities:

• Meet targeted revenue goals
• Keep current of digital marketing strategies and competitive media outlets
• Analyze the market to identify potential prospects
• Effectively gain access to client decision makers
• Succinctly present desired marketing solutions to clients
• Develop a thorough understanding of the Tribune and its products

 Requirements:

• Experience in print, broadcast and digital sales preferred
• Must have demonstrated success in previous sales positions
• Must have high energy and demonstrate a passion for selling
• Must have the ability to build effective consultative relationships with business owners, corporate executives and agency representatives
• Ideal candidate should possess a strong network of business contacts, preferably in Delaware County or Northwest Philadelphia
• Must have a valid driver’s license and possess an insured vehicle

Assistant News Editor/Copy Editor

The Philadelphia Tribune, America’s oldest continuously published newspaper serving the African American community, is seeking an Assistant News/Copy Editor.

In this position, you will play a role in maintaining the quality of our publications. You will edit articles for clarity, grammar and style while also selecting and assigning stories that align with our editorial vision. This is a full-time, onsite position.

Responsibilities

• Edit articles for grammatical accuracy, clarity and adherence to style guides.
• Select stories based on editorial priorities and audience interest.
• Edit and select stories for special sections and supplements
• Ensure compliance with libel laws and other legal standards in the editing process.
• Work closely with the editorial team to meet deadlines and manage workflow efficiently.Qualifications
• Minimum five years of experience as a copy editor, preferably in a news environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications or a related field.
• Strong understanding of journalistic standards and ethics.
• Excellent command of grammar, punctuation and style.
• Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple assignments.
• Familiarity with newspaper design, digital publishing, and social media is a plus.

Home Delivery Manager

The Philadelphia Tribune, an award-winning African-American newspaper, seeks a motivated, energetic Home Delivery Manager for all home delivery activities including distribution, retention, customer service and penetration levels within a designated geographic area.

Proven management experience in newspaper circulation distribution is desired. The successful candidate must have a general knowledge of the Philadelphia region, a reliable vehicle, registration and automobile insurance. In addition, the ideal candidate must be customer service focused, team oriented, and self-motivated.
