Actor Kevin Spacey’s Baltimore mansion has been sold at a foreclosure auction, according to a news report.
An unknown local businessman, purchased the house through a third-party buyer, and acquired the waterfront mansion at a 15-minute sale on Thursday morning for $3.24 million, according to the Baltimore Business Journal.
The house, which sits in a gated community, was purchased in 2017 for $5.65 million, according to the real estate listing.
The listing referred to the property as a “Magnificent mansion on the water.”
The 9,069-square-foot house sits on five levels, and has six bedrooms, seven bathrooms, three half-bathrooms, an elevator, a sauna, a home theater, multiple verandas, a rooftop terrace overlooking Baltimore’s Inner Harbor and a four-car garage, according to the real estate listing.
The house is about 80 miles from Harrisburg.
The Oscar-winning actor told Piers Morgan in a recent interview what was happening to his house after Morgan asked him where he was living now.
“This week, where I have been living in Baltimore is being foreclosed on … my house is being sold at auction … so I have to go back to Baltimore and put all my things in storage. So the answer to that question is I’m not quite sure where I’m going to live now.”
Spacey moved to Baltimore to play the lead role in the Netflix series “House of Cards,” according to the Baltimore Business Journal. The newspaper reported that Spacey hasn’t been able to work in years after he was accused of sexual misconduct. He has since been acquitted in a civil trial in New York and a criminal trial in London, according to the Associated Press.
