Hatherleigh confirmed their status as Division 2 champions in the North Devon Cricket League, beating Newton Tracey 2nds at home by 66 runs, and at the same time, maintaining their 100% record for the season.

Naveed then top scored for the visitors with 40, but apart from Aaron Hollands 39, no other batter got into double figures, as they toiled against the tight Hatherleigh bowling. Martin Quick took the bowling plaudits with 3 for 15. closely followed by John Baglivi with 3 for 37, as Newton were all out for 117

Liam Brend chipped in with 17, and extras helped the cause with 18. Faizan Naveed carried on his bowling form with 3 for 35, but he was outdone by veteran John "The Worm " Whormsley, who took 3 for 8.

It took Newton just under 27 overs to get the runs. They struggled at the start against the bowling of Ryan Seymour Smith, who took the first 4 wickets for 55 runs off his 8 overs. Thereafter, Alex Cox 34, and Kieran Soper with a rapid 72 not out saw the home side to a comfortable victory.
