Sustainability
Our Strategy
Nissan’s purpose places sustainability at the core of the business. This means working toward a cleaner, safer, more inclusive world continues to define how we develop products, technologies, and services. From talent management to supply chain to product design and the entire lifecycle of our products, sustainability is a priority throughout Nissan’s business. We have accelerated our sustainability strategy by introducing the Nissan Green Program 2030 (NGP2030) and Nissan Social Program 2030 (NSP2030). These programs will provide a foundation for our business plan and help us realize our Ambition 2030 vision.
Cleaner
Nissan aims to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050 across its operations and product lifecycle. In 2022, we achieved a 41.2% reduction in CO2 emissions from new vehicles compared to 2000.
As part of our emissions reduction efforts, new Nissan vehicle offerings in key markets are going to be electrified by the early 2030s.
Safer
Nissan will continue to develop driver assistance and intelligent technologies in order to realize a safer society. So far, 2.27 million vehicles are equipped with our advanced driver assistance system “ProPilot/ProPilot Assist.”
More inclusive
Our goal is to build a diverse, equitable, and inclusive workplace where every individual is valued, respected, and empowered.
Nissan’s global workforce represents over 100 nationalities, and our ratio of women managers has increased from 6.7% in 2008 to 15.5% in 2023 globally.
Leadership Messages
“At Nissan, our corporate purpose is “Driving innovation to enrich people’s lives” and both NGP2030 and NSP2030 play a critical role in fulfilling it. By advancing and accelerating our sustainability initiatives across Nissan globally, we aim to realize a cleaner, safer, more inclusive world, and ultimately, a more sustainable future for our valued stakeholders for generations to come.”
