We’re for the greater good
At News Corp Australia (NCA), we’re here to be greater than good for the greater good. Together we inform, advocate and inspire to build a better Australia, for all Australians.
We are committed to operating our business responsibly, acting with integrity and having a meaningful impact on the lives of our audiences and communities. We believe that we can make a difference by the choices we make when we procure goods and services for our business.
We are committed to responsible, sustainable and safe procurement practices and seek to work collaboratively with our supply partners to achieve positive outcomes for our business and the broader community.
We’re for ethical behaviour
NCA is committed to conducting its procurement activities in a fair, transparent and ethical way and in compliance with applicable laws and regulations. NCA seeks to do business with suppliers that have similar values and business practices and expects suppliers to comply with our Supplier Code of Conduct when doing business with us.
We’re for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion
NCA is committed to fostering an environment that promotes diversity, equity and inclusion across the supply chain. We explore opportunities to source directly or indirectly from diverse suppliers and seek to raise awareness on inclusive Procurement.
We’re for Health, Safety & Security (HSS)
We believe that no one should be hurt at work and are committed to maintaining a safe and healthy working environment for our employees and suppliers. We strive to proactively identify opportunities to improve the safety of our workplaces and to improve the procedures, training and systems that we use to manage safety, security and wellbeing risks in our business and supply chain.
Health, safety and security considerations are assessed throughout the procurement process and applicable suppliers are required to provide their HSS and risk management plans as part of NCA’s supplier due diligence process.
We’re for Sustainability
We are driven by our clear purpose to contribute meaningfully to society by minimizing our environmental impact, growing our businesses sustainably and inspiring others to take action.
As part of our 1 Degree program, NCA has established environmental targets including:
- sourcing 100% of paper from certified sources by 2025;
- contributing to our global goal to reduce emissions in our supply chain by 20% by 2030 from a 2016 base year;
- achieving zero waste to landfill at our major sites by 2025, with a special focus on reducing single-use plastic; and
- seeking opportunities to power our operations with cleaner sources of energy.
We aspire to build partnerships with suppliers that share our commitment to conducting operations so as to minimise environmental impacts, reduce waste, advance recycling and optimise energy and resource efficiency.
We’re for Indigenous Participation
NCA is dedicated to building a stronger relationship with the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community. As part of our dedication, we are committed to using our influence to enhance the lives of Indigenous communities across Australia.
As outlined in our Reconciliation Action Plan we are committed to investigating opportunities to incorporate Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander supplier diversity within our supply chain.
We’re for Human & Labour Rights
NCA promotes ethical business practices and policies to protect, as far as it is able, workers from being abused or exploited either within our operations or within our global supply chain.
Suppliers are subject to a risk-based due diligence process and are ranked according to various risk factors, including industry and geographic risk. NCA also uses a third party platform to identify any ‘adverse media reports’ about suppliers, including any reports relating to labour exploitation issues, slavery or human trafficking.
We’re for Respecting our Suppliers
NCA is committed to paying its suppliers on-time and in compliance with its contractual commitments.
