NBA 2K25 Summer League: Heat edge Grizzlies in championship overtime thriller

LAS VEGAS — A multitude of prolific offensive performances and a clutch floating jumper by Pelle Larsson spearheaded the Miami Heat to a wild 120-118 overtime win over the Memphis Grizzlies in the NBA 2K25 Summer League Championship Game at Thomas and Mack Center in Las Vegas on Monday night.

The two undefeated Summer League squads put on a memorable wire-to-wire performance befitting the bevy of talent with NBA experience on each roster. The game included six lead changes and seven ties, and it also featured team shooting performances of better than 50.0 percent for each club. The Grizzlies held a thin three-point lead at halftime and had extended it to seven going into the final period, but the Heat erased multiple late deficits and had a three-point edge late until GG Jackson forced the extra period with a 24-footer in the closing seconds.

In overtime, both teams scuffled to reach the target score of 120 points, and after Josh Christopher and Jake LaRavia traded threes to forge one final tie at 118-118, Larsson’s clutch bucket sent the Heat home as NBA2K25 Summer League champs.

The Grizzlies’ LaRavia led all scorers with 32 points, complementing them with six rebounds, three assists, one steal and one block. Scotty Pippen Jr. supplied 29 points, 11 assists, five rebounds, four steals and two blocks. Jackson registered 28 points, nine boards, two assists and two steals.

Christopher led the Heat with 24 points, adding four rebounds, one assist, three steals and two blocks, earning Championship Game MVP honors. Kel’el Ware and Alondes Williams produced matching 21-point tallies. Ware added 10 rebounds, while Williams had five. Williams also dished out six assists. Cole Swider furnished 19 points, two rebounds, two assists and one block. Larsson delivered 16 points, four assists, three rebounds, one steal and one block.
