About that Lobster Dinner

Many of you know that on last Friday’s date night, we took advantage of a half price Maine lobster event.
The restaurant was much more elegant than our last visit. They even had valet parking which I thought was totally unnecessary.
We were seated in a quiet room, large enough for five tables. Seated next to us were a group of four women. They all loved my fairy hair, and we began a friendly conversation. It turned out that one of the women knows friends of ours here in Florida, a woman I used to teach with up north. Small world.
Anyway, I ordered a six pound lobster. My husband ordered a four pound lobster. We also had cocktails, rolls, salads, potatoes, and fresh vegetables. My husband ordered lobster bisque. I order a Sauvignon Blanc with my lobster.
I ate the entire thing, minus the shells.. It was delicious! Next time I’m going to order a 10 or 12 pound lobster!
The market price was $34 per pound. The special was $17.00 per pound, but the market price dropped by 10 cents per pound while I was still working on my martini.
We made out like bandits!

I could never eat that much. But I do love lobster.
I am glad you enjoyed your lobster and Friday date night.
My son/grandson will be here March 1, 2 and 3rd with his pregnant girl friend. That baby is due in August.
My grandson who just got married will be coming those three days to see his brother.
So we will be taking everybody out to dinner to Sizzlers for steak or lobster or whatever they want.

That sounds so incredible. The last time I had lobster it was only a tail portion which set mom back at least $15 back then, it was my 40th BD .... dang, 30 years ago .... anyway I was so disappointed because I had to cut the meat with a knife. It was a little tasty but not as good as it should have been.
If not for the hurricanes etc I'd want to live on a seaside.

I don't know where the ones served here come from but unless I can afford the swankiest restaurant they won't be prepared properly @DianneN I have seen them living in tanks in some groceries but I just feel sorry for them so now I don't even want to eat what they have here. It's just so inhumane, not that I won't eat lobster I just don't see making them live like that.

@DianneN Lobsters are a piece of cake though compared to crabs. That takes skill!

@snowy22315 I asked if he could have the kitchen do it, but said he was very good at doing it.
He had a bit of a difficult time with mine.

@DianneN Ah, did you have your fill on lobster? I know I get a craving for something - and when I get it I have my fill and then I don't have that craving for a long time . My son was sick and I let him pick whatever he wanted to eat just so he has something in his system - yah, he went all out on his choices .
