A container of organs has been found by a member of the public in a South London park. Police raced to Rosehill Park in Sutton at around 4.30pm after a member of the public reported finding the organ-filled container.

It is not yet clear at this stage whether the remains are human or animal. No arrests have been made.

A Met Police spokesperson said: “Police were called at approximately 4.30pm on Wednesday, July 24, by a member of the public who reported finding a container in Rosehill Park, Sutton containing what was described as human or animal organs inside.

“The container has been secured by police and the contents will be forensically examined.” The park where the container was found is located next to St Helier Hospital and Queen Mary's Hospital for Children.

According to The Independent, the park has been cordoned off as officers carry out their investigations. Pictures of the scene show a forensic tent in place.
