Situation Outbreak is an Orange Box mod about the impending zombie apocalypse. Ive never delved too far into the accusations of this mod stealing content or anything close to that matter as its something i felt you guys didnt need any more flak with.
But my only question is, in the hard, cold, unforgiving world of Mod DB, you have created zombie vision. first introduced by Zombie Panic Source (unless anyone knows of another game with it?).
Now while what you add is completely your decision, it does not really help differentiate you between the hordes of zombie mods by using similar concepts.
This zombie vision was 100% created by the development team, and doesn't look anything like ZP:S's zombie vision or any other zombie vision variant from any other mod, so I'm not entirely sure what you're talking about. This was created out of necessity; zombies were having trouble seeing in the dark without flashlights. This vision was created to allow zombies to see survivors easier in darker areas of maps. It's also entirely optional in that zombies don't have to use it, as they can simply press their 'N' key to enable/disable it. The same thing goes for the survivor's nightvision.
Yeah I agree with izzysinz this looks way to much like ZP:S's zombie vision. Both have blood around the edges and both can be turned off. Sure it's 100% created by you guys but that doesn't mean the idea is original doing all this is just going to give your mod an even worse reputation for stealing ideas.

How does that look anything like what we have here? Plain and simple, it doesn't. The only similarity is the existence of the zombie vision, which in itself is not a unique idea at all.
You're both missing the point here. Zombies were not able to see in the dark, so we created a shader that allows them to do just that. It's here to stay, end of story.
Just so you know i dont think they look anything alike that is not my point.
My only point was we all know how hard it is to make an original zombie mod. so with this in mind creating zombie vision which has already been seen from another zombie mod seems to me like a bad idea.
Personally the visions look nothing alike, Z: panic source's is animated for a start and it works by increasing light sources.
I see your point, and it's true, there's very few 'original' zombie-based ideas to go around anymore. I realize that sometimes our features will overlap with other zombie mods' features, however there's not too much we can do about that at this time. Perhaps in the future we'll work on making the zombie vision truly unique.
I call it Blood vision.....but echo...IT SUCKS AND IT LITERALLY DOES NOT HELP.....AT ALL!!! im not even kidding..i would rather have a flash light!!! Zombies should carry Flares around!!!
They don't look anything alike! Leave the team alone already, it's a great mod and has alot of potential.
