Emmerdale aired a sad double exit tonight - as two villagers departed the Dales for good.
It has been a tumultuous time for both Nicky Miligan and Suni Sharma in the Yorkshire village but tonight they decided to leave their lives behind them and start afresh. Nicky and Suni have been going from strength to strength but their worlds around them have been collapsing and getting worse and tonight, they decided that enough was enough.
Suni found out that his brother Jai had been keeping from him that his dad Amit had killed his brother - and Jai's adoptive dad Rishi - and that he had blackmailed Amit to leave the village and give him his shares in the HOP after finding out the truth.
Elsewhere, Charles learned that the Miligan's were responsible for Ethan's death. Whilst it was actually Ruby who ran him over after he left Nicky for dead, Caleb admitted it was him when Charles found the receipt for the bodywork on the car.
Speaking at the end of tonight's episode, Nicky said: "We’re leaving. Sorry mam it’s not been an easy decision but we’re going." Mum Ruby immediately quizzed him where they planned to go, with Suni revealing: "We’re not sure yet - travelling somewhere."
Nicky admitted to his mum: "We need a fresh start and away from here and away from my dad especially. I’m not interested in anything he has to say. We’ve talked enough. I’m sorry mam," and she had no choice to let them go.
In emotional scenes, she hugged them as she told them: "You take care, both of you. You better take care of him. I love you."
Charles has been understandably struggling since Ethan's death. Speaking about his on-screen son's shock death, Kevin Mathurin - who plays Charles - shared: "Charles has lost his one and only constant – his son, who has been in his life throughout when other members of the family have came and went. Ethan has always been there, but now Charles has to deal with a life without him. It's going to hit the hardest for him, because Charles raised Ethan on his own and they've always been together. They've been the core unit of the Anderson family. For Ethan to be gone, it's going to be devastating for Charles to deal with."
