Fortnite OG's final update is finally upon us, so it's time to prepare for the return of Fortnite Season 9 and Season X, meaning the jetpacks are returning.

Fortnite OG only kicked off a few weeks ago and it's already time to say goodbye to what is the most popular season of Fortnite ever, with the season's launch breaking all-time player records for the game. Now that we're in the final week, it's time to get ready for Season 9 and Season X's arrival.

For those who are unaware, Fortnite OG is the latest season of the game and instead of focusing on new features, it's taking the game back to 2018 when Fortnite Chapter 1 was alive and kicking. However, rather than focus on one specific Season of Fortnite Chapter 1, it's rolling through seasons weekly.

When the season first dropped it featured content from Fortnite Chapter 1 Season 5, before moving on to Season 6 the following week. One week later we got a double bill of Season 7 and Season 8 (which we're in right now), and today we're heading into the endgame with Season 9 and Season X launching.

Epic Games gave us a look at the Fortnite OG roadmap earlier this month so we know what we're in for later this week.

Fortnite Season 9 and Season X start time

Despite Epic Games updating Fortnite earlier this week (which led to us discovering details about The Big Bang live event and the Eminem collab), the Fortnite Season 9 and Season X content wasn't added to the game. Instead, we'll need to wait until later today to jump in.

Fortnite Season 9 and Season X content will arrive in Fortnite OG today, November 21 at 2pm GMT / 9am ET / 6am PT and be available until the Fortnite The Big Bang live event kicks off on Saturday, December 2 at 7pm GMT / 2pm ET / 11am PT.

Fortnite Season 9 and Season X: what to expect

As we mentioned, Epic Games has released a Fortnite OG Roadmap and it's listed these as the changes set for this update. These are as follows:

V27.11 Nov 23 Hotfix - Seasons 9 & X: blast off!

Season 9 brought the future. Then in Season X, the world was destabilizing, fast! But don’t worry, Seasons 9 and X had a ton of ways to play Fortnite that will return in the v27.11 Nov 23 hotfix.

  • Finish Fortnite OG strong with weapons like the Heavy Sniper Rifle, Proximity Grenade Launcher, Air Strike, and Junk Rift.

  • Defy natural order with items like the Storm Flip and Jetpack. (Fun fact: Season 9’s “The Final Showdown” event had players using Jetpacks to witness a fight of epic proportions.)

  • Introduced in Season 8, players stayed rollin’ with The Baller in Season 9.

So yeah, it's almost time to bring the jetpacks out once again as one last hurrah before Fortnite Chapter 5 is upon us.
