Ray Russ OBITUARY

Morrison Ray Russ age 81, known by all through his middle name, Ray, passed away peacefully at home on June 15, 2024. He was surrounded by his loved ones and fought a lengthy battle with cancer. Ray was born in North Carolina and enlisted in the Navy to serve his country. This showed him the world, and brought him to California. He was stationed out of Port Chicago near San Francisco. After the service he met his wife Patricia Russ, they married in 1967 and were married for 57 years. Ray was a successful salesman and business equipment entrepreneur. He created General Business Machines in San Jose, CA and for 57 years enjoyed his loyal customers until his retirement in 2022. He provided a living example to all of what a good man, friend, husband, father, and son should be.Ray will be dearly missed by his wife Patricia Russ, his daughters Katherine Russ-Hotfelter, Keri Fortino, sons-in-law Scott Hotfelter and Michael Fortino, grandchildren Hailey Gault, Anthony Fortino, Domenic Fortino, brothers Walter Russ, Jerry Russ, sister Janet Henderson and numerous extended family members. He is preceded in death by his father Cameron Russ and mother Virginia Russ.The family is having a private memorial.
