John Brazil OBITUARY

It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of John J. Brazil, who died peacefully in his home with family on July 2, 2024 at the age of 90. He was a humble man of sly humor and subtle wisdom. John was raised on a dairy farm in Santa Clara. In his late teens, his family moved to the same street in Mountain View where his future wife Arlene lived. They soon began dating. After high school, John joined the Navy and toured the Pacific. On return, he married Arlene and they settled in Mountain View, living in the same house for 65 years and raising two children. John worked at Hewlett Packard where he honed his Mr. Fixit skills. His passion for antique cars, playing the mandolin, and spending time with friends and family will forever be remembered. Born to John M. and Mary Brazil. Survived by wife Arlene, daughter Jennifer (Russ), son John (Libby), grandson Matthew (Kylie), granddaughter Alison, and great granddaughter Laurel, all of whom he loved dearly. Special thanks to John’s caregiver team. Per his request, the family will be holding a private burial. In lieu of flowers, we invite contributions to his favorite charities, Truck of Love in South Carolina or Community School of Music & Arts in Mountain View.
