Ilonian Iwalani Bohlmann OBITUARY

Ilonian Bohlmann, beloved wife, mom, grandma/tutu, sister, aunt and friend passed away peacefully on June 17, 2024 at age 95. A 63-year resident of San Jose. Ilonian was born in Kapehu and raised in Laupahoehoe, Hawaii; she was the 12th of 15 children.Ilonian moved to California in the 1950’s; lived in Santa Rosa and Sacramento before moving to San Jose in 1961. She loved gardening and tending to her hawaiian ginger, orchids, hibiscuses, and fruit trees. She owned Ilonian’s Beauty Salon and was an amazing hair stylist. Ilonian was musically gifted and loved to entertain. A great pianist, singer, ukulele/guitar player, hula dancer, square dancer and line dancer. She joined ukulele/dance clubs and loved meeting people. A very classy, creative, beautiful, and generous soul with aloha spirit always shining through. Family was most important. She’d be there for you without hesitation. We will miss her forever.Ilonian was preceded in death by husband Otto Bohlmann; parents Abel and Mary AhYou; 8 sisters and 4 brothers.She is survived by daughters Gwen Anthes and Debbie Honore; stepson Terry Bohlmann (Gayle); sisters Florence and Evangeline; grandchildren Stephen, Tonya (Nick), Lauren, Natalie (Randy), Jerry, Michael; great-grandchildren Jocelyn, Kendall, Desirae, Grayson, Harper, Randall; many nieces, nephews, and extended family.A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, July 21, at Oak Hill Cemetery, Chapel of the Oaks, 300 Curtner Avenue in San Jose. Viewingstartsat 10AM; Service at 11AM. No need to wear black. Let the aloha spirit dress you.
