Merakey’s Dual Diagnosis and Dimensions of Wellness Virtual Seminar was held on June 9 and 10, with more than 300 attendees from across the country and from Canada! CEO Joe Martz opened the two-day event by welcoming everyone and introducing our special keynote speaker, Dr. Beth Barol. Associate Professor at Widener University, Center for Social Work Education, Dr. Barol presented on her work and commitment to individuals with a dual diagnosis of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities and mental health challenge for more than 44 years. Dr. Barol kicked off an afternoon of various breakout sessions presented by our Merakey colleagues from the Dual Diagnosis Treatment Team and IDD Clinical Services Team.
Day two of the seminar gave attendees more breakout sessions to learn about and support individuals with a dual diagnosis. In total, the conference offered 14 breakout sessions presented by 15 of our colleagues. Everyone did an exceptional job representing Merakey and proving why we are a leader in providing health and human services. Congratulations to all the presenters, moderators, support teams, and planning committee for a terrific two day event!
