Killer Relationship with Faith Jenkins: Buried Secrets (Oxygen, Saturday, October 5, 2024)

Killer Relationship with Faith Jenkins

The disappearance of 17-year-old high school senior and star baseball player Christopher ‘Chris’ Daigle from Missouri City, Texas, is the focus of this episode of Killer Relationship with Faith Jenkins. Chris, described as popular, funny, and athletic, went missing, leaving his mother, Wanda, and stepmother, Tracy, devastated and determined to uncover the truth.

Rumors circulated that Chris had moved away with friends or met someone online, while others speculated about his association with certain groups. Chris’s parents were separated, and his father had a history of drug-related incarceration. Adding to the mystery, Chris’s father was released from prison just weeks before his son’s disappearance.

The case took a new turn with the emergence of a suspect, Ricky Mendoza, but Chris remained missing. In 2010, Detective Andrew Robb reopened the cold case, and with the assistance of cadaver dogs, they searched a field in Fort Bend County, yielding no results. However, a breakthrough came when they located Josh Fretz, who disclosed information about Ricky Mendoza’s jealousy and a plot for revenge.

Mendoza, armed with a shotgun, drove Josh Fretz, David Garcia, and Chris to a field, where he shot Chris in the head. David Garcia cooperated with the police and led them to Chris’s remains, which were identified through DNA matching. Ricky Mendoza was arrested in 2011, convicted of murder in 2013, and sentenced to 50 years in prison. Josh Fretz and David Garcia were not charged. Sadly, Chris’s mother, Wanda, passed away shortly after the trial.
