It’s National Assisted Living Week, and McKnight’s Senior Living is celebrating with a panel discussion on Wednesday and a podcast on Thursday. Here’s what you’ll want to know about those events.

National Assisted Living Week was established by the National Center for Assisted Living in 1995. This year’s theme is “Inspiring Generations.” McKnight’s Senior Living is grateful to NCAL for helping us arrange these events, and to all of the individual participants who will spotlight efforts taking place around the country.

Our “Hot topics in assisted living” panel discussion will take place Wednesday, Sept. 11, from 1 to 2 p.m. ET. You’ll obtain insights into how other senior living providers are innovating and addressing challenges when panelists talk about topics such as technology, value-based care, affordable assisted living, dementia and memory care, and recruiting and retaining employees.

Participating in the discussion will be NCAL Executive Director LaShuan Bethea, Bickford Senior Living Vice President of HigherPath Alexandra Shuell, and Maplewood Senior Living / Inspir Senior Living Regional Director of Operations Lisa Williams.

I’ll be moderating this free, hour-long virtual event. To register, please visit this web page.

Thursday, we’ll publish our next Newsmakers Podcast, with insights from Ole Lindbo, regional director of operations for The Springs Living and NCAL state leader for the state of Washington. He’ll share how The Springs Living and other providers are observing National Assisted Living Week as well as discuss what attracted him to senior living, the ways he has seen the field change over the course of his career, the biggest opportunities and challenges facing providers, and his thoughts on what the future holds.

Beginning Thursday, you’ll be able to access the podcast here as well as on platforms such as Apple Podcasts and Spotify.

This National Assisted Living Week, McKnight’s Senior Living salutes all providers for their work serving and caring for residents, inspiring generations in numerous ways. Thank you, and Happy National Assisted Living Week!
