Springfield cooling centers to open Sunday, Monday

SPRINGFIELD — As temperatures hit 90 in Springfield, the city plan to open several cooling centers this coming Sunday and Monday, Mayor Domenic Sarno and Health and Human Services Commissioner Helen Caulton-Harris announced Friday.

Cooling centers at the Indian Orchard Community Center at Myrtle Street Park, Senior Center in the North End at Kenefick Park, South End Community Center and Raymond A. Jordan Senior Center will be available on Sunday from 12 to 6 p.m.
