This week is an important one for NHL fans, as the 2023 NHL draft is coming up on Wednesday, June 28.
The event will take place at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee, as all the top ice hockey teams in the country search for the stars of the future.
There are seven rounds, but focus will be on the first round where the Chicago Blackhawks have the first pick.
Which players are eligible for the NHL draft?
The NFL draft is the format through which teams can draft the next generation of talent and, for the 2023 NFL draft, players born between January 1, 2003, and September 15, 2005, are eligible.
Also eligible are players who are from outside of North America and who were born in 2002.
What is the order of the 2023 NHL draft?
The NHL runs a draft lottery to determine who comes first, with those format chosen to discourage tanking.
For 2023, the Chicago Blackhawks won the draft lottery even though they only had the third-highest odds of securing the first pick. It is expected that they'll select Connor Bedard, the Canadian centre.
