Barcelona consider Stuani

Ernesto Valverde's desire to have a backup arrive for Luis Suarez has seen the club turn to Girona's Cristhian Stuani.

Munir El Haddadi's departure to Sevilla has left the Catalans thin in attack and another No.9 is needed if they are to compete in multiple competitions for the rest of the season, with Suarez's fellow Uruguayan at the top of the list.

The club have identified Stuani as a serious option late on Monday evening, having been impressed with his performances in LaLiga Santander this season, while he can also feature in the Champions League.

With 12 goals already, the forward has shown that he can operate in Spain's top tier, having also played for Espanyol amongst other clubs, and he is an affordable option for Barcelona with his release clause being just 15 million euros.
