Ryan Garcia is facing significant issues, largely of his own making, as his controversial comments on X prompted WBC President Mauricio Sulaiman to take decisive action, banning Garcia from all WBC activities. In response, Garcia's parents took to social media to state that their son requires assistance.

Garcia's victory over Devin Haney was overturned and declared a no-contest. This, along with a one-year boxing ban, left Garcia deeply distressed.

In frustration, he posted offensive statements targeting Haney's race and religion on X, which caught the attention of Sulaiman. The WBC President condemned Garcia's behavior, stressing that the organization does not tolerate discrimination.

Exercising his authority, Sulaiman announced that Garcia was "expelled from any activity with our organization," emphasizing their rejection of discriminatory behavior. Following this, Garcia's family publicly disavowed his statements, asserting that they did not reflect his true character or upbringing.

"Our family unequivocally does not support any statements he has made regarding race or religion - these do not reflect who Ryan truly is and how he was raised," read the family's statement.

"Ryan has been open about his ongoing struggle with mental health over the years and as a family, we are committed to ensuring and encouraging that he receives the necessary help to navigate this very challenging time and address both his immediate and long-term well-being."

Overwhelmed by the backlash

In a recent Fight Hub TV interview, Garcia's father discussed his son's struggles. Garcia's B-sample tested positive for Ostarine, which he attributed to a contaminated supplement.

Despite his claims of innocence, his legal team couldn't prevent the NYSAC from imposing a ban. Henry Garcia revealed that Ryan felt overwhelmed by the backlash and expressed concern about his son's drinking habits.

"I would love for him to get some type of therapy when it comes to his drinking," said Henry Garcia. "He will call me when he needs me."
