Caitlin Clarkonce again got her name into the WNBA record books. Her latest feat? A career-high 19 assists in a single game, achieved during a thrilling matchup against the Dallas Wings. But in true Caitlin Clark fashion, she brushed off the significance of her achievement, much to the amusement of her teammate, Aliyah Boston.

"She's going to say it means nothing, but I think it's pretty cool," Boston remarked with a grin. The power forward had just wrapped up a career-high 28-point game herself, fueled by Clark's relentless playmaking. With nine of those assists going directly to Boston, the duo's chemistry was on full display.

Clark's performance was historic on multiple fronts. Not only did she match her college career-high for assists at Iowa, but her stat line also marked the second 20-point, 15-assist game in league history. The only other player to achieve this was Courtney Vandersloot back in 2018. It was Clark's third game with 20-plus points and 10-plus assists, joining Angel McCoughtry as the only rookies to do so.

"I just try to set my teammates up for success," Clark said modestly. "I think at times I can almost overpass ... especially with AB, I'm just looking to set her up so much. My eyes are just always on our post players."

Her humility aside, Clark's impact on the court is undeniable. She became the first rookie and ninth player overall in WNBA history to record at least 400 points and 200 assists in a season. Names like Sue Bird, Alyssa Thomas, and Chelsea Gray share this elite company, but Clark is already setting herself apart with her vision and unselfish play.

Despite her record-breaking performance, the Fever fell short against the Dallas Wings, leaving the team with a bittersweet taste. Clark acknowledged the importance of every game as Indiana pushes to make the playoffs for the first time since 2016.

Now sitting at 11-15 and seventh in the league standings, the Fever are acutely aware that the margin for error is slim. As they enter the Olympic break, every game will count in their quest for a playoff spot.

But there's a silver lining for the Fever faithful. Clark, Boston, and teammate Kelsey Mitchell will soon head to Phoenix to participate in the 2024 WNBA All-Star Game, a chance to showcase their talents on a grand stage and perhaps build even more momentum for the final stretch of the season.

In the meantime, Clark's understated reaction to her remarkable achievements continues to endear her to fans and teammates alike. And as Aliyah Boston would tell you, that's pretty cool.
