UNB's newest Purdy Crawford/Stephen Jarislowsky Postdoctoral Fellowship in Health Policy isn’t a nurse. In fact, Dr. Vahid Salehi is an industrial and systems engineer. So, why is he working in the UNB Faculty of Nursing? Salehi has focused his research on modelling, visualizing and improving healthcare systems by applying human factor principles and methods. At UNB, Salehi and assistant professor of nursing Dr. Ali McGill will use systems engineering techniques to explore the ways healthcare is accessed by, delivered to and received by newcomers in New Brunswick. This past Friday, the Canada Foundation for Innovation/Fondation canadienne pour l'innovation announced the latest round of John R. Evans Leaders Fund recipients, including UNB's own Dr. Maryam Kebbe, PhD!
