Dirk Vantyghem, Director General at EURATEX - European Apparel and Textile Confederation, emphasizes the critical need for the industry to transform its perception from being old and conservative to appealing and innovative in the eyes of the younger generation. 🌍 New EU ecodesign regulation: focus on sustainability now also applies to textiles and shoes 👚👞 The Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation (ESPR), which came into force on July 18, 2024, represents a milestone for more sustainable product regulation. In addition to energy-consuming products, it now also affects textiles and shoes - and brings important changes for companies. 🚫 From 2026, the destruction of unsold goods, such as clothing and shoes, will be prohibited. Companies must prepare for the digital product passport, which will provide comprehensive information for authorities, consumers and companies. What does this mean in concrete terms for trade, consumption and production? And how can companies prepare for the new regulations at an early stage? 🔍 👉 Read the latest article with Dr. Anno Oexle now, which highlights the most important points of the regulation: https://lnkd.in/dcgTJfPQ #TexpertiseNetwork #sustainability #EUregulation #ecodesign #ESPR #textileindustry #GreenDeal

UNUSUAL, ORIGINAL AND INNOVATIVE – NEW HOME TEXTILE COLOURS FOR 25/26 From “Naturally Uneven Green” to “End of Petrol” and “Imperfect Pink” – the Heimtextil Trends 25/26 present a visionary colour palette that Alcova has interpreted both visually and linguistically. Find out more at https://lnkd.in/eZcJakd6 Thanks to Alice Moretto for this insight. Textiles tell stories. They carry memories, reflect identities and document social changes. A look into their past enables a deeper understanding of the status quo and revives forgotten practices. But how can we learn from the past in order to shape a more sustainable and conscious future? Heimtextil Trends 25/26, curated by Alcova, provides the answer. Through six inspiring interviews, textile branches are given a voice and their stories are brought to life.
