Last week, SJSU Business students got to go on a Career Trek of the LinkedIn headquarters. During the trek we got to learn from a panel of LinkedIn professionals, tour the campus, and enjoy a luxurious lunch at the LinkedIn cafeteria. Thank you so much to Cristian King for making this possible. Shoutout to Christine H., Kincaid Smith, and the rest of LinkedIn team who joined us on this spectacular trek. We're thankful to have teamed up with SJSU LILAC from the Lucas College and Graduate School of Business at SJSU in coordinating this event. It was great to see representatives from Hospitality Financial and Technology Professionals (HFTP®), SJSU Women in Business, Institute of Management Accountants (IMA), SJSU GBSA, ALPFA Inc - Association of Latino Professionals For America Black Business Student Association (BBSA)- San Jose State University, Management Information Systems Association at SJSU, SHRM at SJSU, SJSU Marketing Association, Spartan Analytics and the Latino Business Student Association - San Jose State University. This week, our school got to host Cecily Hastings from LinkedIn at our Lunch with LinkedIn Workshop. Students got to learn how to better their LinkedIn profiles while making meaningful connections. Here is what one of the attending students had to say: "Today, I attended the first workshop of “Lunch with LinkedIn” hosted by Cecily Hastings. As a business administration-management student I have been using LinkedIn for about 2 years, but never knew how to use it effectively. This event emphasized building relationships within our field. After attending this event, the tips I would give another student are: •Create a headline that attracts attention (use an image, be authentic) •Engage in dialogue: respond to comments, greet people and express thanks •Track your progress (monitor your audience and stats on the platform) •Post frequently! •Start conversations or express your point of view by sharing images, news, polls, or questions on a shared article " -Marie-Noëlle Grace Digbeu

Recently, the SJSU students got to go on a Career Trek of PwC and tour their campus. While we were there we listened to a panel of SJSU alumni. Our students had a blast and got explore what it is like to work at an amazing company like PwC. Here is what one of the attending students had to say: “SJSU had the privilege of touring and speaking with PWC, one of the top finance firms, this past week. Opportunities like this are what make me glad I chose this institution to develop myself professionally. As someone exploring different paths within business, this experience allowed me to speak with professionals in a field I might not have considered. I want to thank Joy, Grant, Elias, and Julissa for taking the time to share their professional wisdom through the organized panel. One of the biggest takeaways I hope everyone can implement is to be proactive through on-campus organizations. This helps develop skills such as professional etiquette and time management while producing tangible results.
