General Motors needed an efficient, accurate way to model the complex configurations and multibody dynamics of leaf spring vehicle suspension systems. 👉 Traditional approaches made it difficult to model tailor-made suspension for different vehicle programs. So what did General Motors do? They created a multibody dynamics modeling tool using our Simpack solution, with support from the Dassault Systèmes SIMULIA team. Now, simulations that used to take a day can now be done within an hour using Simpack's robust solver. Machine learning can be used in the design process of a centrifugal pump to optimize diffuser geometry. 🌟 The AI model is trained on data from simulation tools which produce reliable data that closely agrees with experimental validation results. Using a trained AI model based on simulation data, engineers can explore the impact of changes to diffuser parameters with instant feedback. A centrifugal pump consists of a central inlet and a rotating impeller that accelerates the fluid and forces it through the outlet along the outer rim of the pump. Centrifugal pumps also typically include diffusers: fixed vanes inside the pump that slow the fluid and increase pressure while also increasing the uniformity of the flow. The precise geometry of these diffusers affects the performance and efficiency of the pump.
