Excited to announce that I will be spending a year in the office of Congressman John Garamendi (CA-8) as the American Physical Society's Congressional Science Fellow. During this time I will bring my scientific perspective to the process of policymaking, seeking to address the complex technical and social challenges faced by Californians, the country, and the world. I look forward to the opportunity to learn how Congress works, about the issues most relevant to the district, and how I can help to solve them. I look forward to serving the 8th district, the state of California, and the country. Thanks to Congressman Garamendi, APS, and the AAAS Science & Technology Policy Fellowships program for this incredible opportunity.

My supervisor and I had the pleasure of attending the 2024 Chief Data Analytics and Officer (CDAO) government meeting #CDAOGov this month. I got to meet and listen to exciting talks from thought leaders at the forefront of implementing and utilizing Artificial Intelligence (AI) within the federal space. The insights we gathered from this meeting are helping us to craft our own strategic approaches for building trust and leadership support with our AI use cases at the NICHD. I am grateful to the AAAS Science & Technology Policy Fellowships for providing me with the opportunity to grow and explore AI regulation and policy. Looking forward to attending the next CDAO Fed Summit meeting in December!
