Big news for Utah's small business community! 🎉 The U.S. Small Business Administration has expanded the Historically Underutilized Business Zones (HUBZones) program in our state, opening exciting new opportunities.
Thanks to the hard work of Governor Spencer J. Cox, the Governor's Office of Economic Opportunity, and the SBA team here in Utah, six new areas have been designated as HUBZones:
📍 Millard County
📍 Census tract 9603.02, Box Elder County
📍 Census tract 9606.02, Box Elder County
📍 Census tract 9607.01, Box Elder County
📍 Census tract 9601, Wasatch County
📍 Census tract 9604.01, Wasatch County
What does this mean for small businesses in these areas? It unlocks the door to federal contracting opportunities reserved for HUBZone-certified firms. By gaining certification, eligible businesses can compete for a share of billions in government contracts – a game-changing opportunity for growth and job creation.
Our Utah Director, Marla Trollan, has been working tirelessly on this expansion for the past two years. She summed it up perfectly: "This is a game-changer for small businesses in these areas. We're thrilled to see these new pathways for economic development and entrepreneurial success."
If you're a small business owner with a principal office in one of the newly designated HUBZones, don't miss out on this opportunity! Head over to www.sba.gov/hubzone to learn more and get certified.
Here's to the continued growth and success of Utah's small business community! 🚀
