Welcome to Pierce County Information Technology! We are a national leader in delivering public services through innovation. Our team of 130 staff provide services to all branches and departments of Pierce County. We create and maintain innovative technology solutions such as: • Safety and justice systems for the Sheriff, Superior Courts, and Prosecuting Attorney, including Pierce County's award-winning LINX (Legal Information Network Exchange) system. • GIS systems, including regional services, and our new Remote Piloted Aerial Systems program. • Major applications areas such as Financials and Human Capital Management, Enterprise Asset Management, Enterprise Records Management, and the new Open Pierce County Performance Management solution. Our diverse technology solutions are all supported by a robust hybrid infrastructure of on-premises and cloud-based solutions and a robust, secure network. We directly support Pierce County's 3,000 staff with their daily IT needs and provides solutions for more than 927,000 County constituents. Our work is local and meaningful!   • Please join us in welcoming Erick Andrews to the IT Data Services team as a Data Engineer 2. Erick will be designing, building, and optimizing Pierce County’s reporting infrastructure and data warehouses. His work will continue to enhance the County’s efforts in leveraging data as a critical asset for informed, data-driven decisions. Before coming to Pierce County, Erick worked at the LA County Department of Public Health where he was a Data Engineer responsible for developing and delivering data pipelines in a hybrid environment. Prior to that, he was a Forecasting Research Analyst at the University of Washington Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation. Erick has a master’s degree from Harvard and a bachelor’s degree from Franklin University in Switzerland. Welcome to Pierce County, Erick!

Bex holds a bachelor’s degree from Eastern Washington University and brings valuable experience from UW Medicine, where they worked as a Computer Support Analyst. Jordan is responsible for serving as the Enterprise GIS Architect, implementing new projects, developing GIS integrations, and supporting a wide range of GIS software platforms and applications like ArcGIS Online, CVWeb, and PublicGIS. Jordan also supervises the talented team of GIS developers and administrators. Jordan holds a bachelor’s degree in history and political science, a GISP (Geographic Information Systems Professional) certification, a Part 107 certification and comes to us with over 10 years of GIS experience in both private and public sectors. The Data Engineer 2 will play a key role in designing, testing, implementing, and maintaining ETL processes for our 3,000 Pierce County employees. This role will also involve designing, developing, and maintaining new data warehouse infrastructure. Strong technical, communication and collaboration skills are a must in working with our county stakeholders. The Data Engineer 2 will also help influence and drive data management best practices to promote data quality, reliability, and security.
