Since 2021, Gilbane's Mid-Atlantic Division has hosted a 7-Day Community Service Challenge to support employees’ volunteerism in their local communities. Building on that effort, Gilbane launched a companywide Community Impact Challenge in 2024. This year, our teams across the Mid-Atlantic volunteered more than 750 hours in our communities!

Gilbane's virtual design and construction team has been using a drone to track progress of the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia's Morgan Center for Research and Innovation. Since Monday, our Maryland team has been volunteering across the state, from preparing lunch and sorting clothing at Paul's Place, Inc., to stopping by the Maryland Food Bank to sort food. On Tuesday, Gilbane visited our longtime client at The Maryland Zoo to help with a beautification project, then popped over to the First Fruits Farm, Inc. on Wednesday to help harvest fruits and veggies for organizations that benefit city food deserts. Our DC team has been busy volunteering with organizations across the DMV. Gilbane's DC PRIDE employee resource group volunteered with Gay For Good DC to help spackle, paint, clean, and repair DC Department of General Services Bruce-Monroe Elementary School. Arlington team members packed snack bags for children's school-year food programs for Arlington's Affordable Homes & Communities (AHC). Finally, Gilbane partnered with Arlington Friends of Urban Agriculture to do some gardening work at The Walter Reed Garden, which has been growing produce for local food pantries for the past ten years! #GilbaneGivesBack #CommunityImpact #GilbaneCares #BuildingMoreThanBuildings
