Today marks the start of World Space Week! 🌑 👨🚀 🌠 To celebrate, let’s take a moment to acknowledge our very own Electronics and Sensing team who is working towards developing self-illuminating UV imager through their HOTTech program. With NASA - National Aeronautics and Space Administration’s grant, the team will create an imager that can withstand Venus’ temperature and pressure environment to study the composition and structure of the planet’s surface and atmosphere. The 2024 Capital District Women’s Network recently held their annual Harvest Social to benefit YWCA NorthEastern NY’s Early Learning Center Expansion Project. The event was held last week on the evening of September 12 at the Great Lodge at the Niskayuna Research Center. Our very own Nora Molino and Elizabeth Golden co-led the event where around 70 people attended this evening full of good food, wine, and company for a great cause. The YWCA of NENY's CEO Kim Siciliano and the Early Learning Center Director Nancy Johnson spoke sharing the significant impact the Harvest Social funds raised will have. The YWCA’s new Early Learning Center facility will double their capacity to provide accessible and affordable high-quality childcare for children ranging 6 weeks to 5 years. Thanks to everyone who attended and donated. With support of corporate charitable matching programs, the event met the target fundraising goal to sponsor the new Early Learning Center’s Small Gym. #AerospaceResearch #HarvestFestival #2024
