Schneider Electric’s Global Security Lab (GSL) has launched its largest test center in India, enhancing its cybersecurity testing capabilities. The GSL performs penetration testing and provides technical advisory support on all Schneider products. This initiative supports Schneider Electric’s strategy to utilize effective tools, labs, and collaboration for product testing, establishing product security as a key element of their cybersecurity approach. Notably, Schneider Electric became the first equipment manufacturer in the energy management and industrial automation business to have a CREST accredited penetration testing lab. The new facilities will enhance our capabilities to protect customers and critical infrastructure with new detection methods like deception technology and a bug bounty program. The lab includes a cybersecurity 5G testing lab for OT security and a technology and innovation center, serving as a central repository for cybersecurity knowledge to be shared across global departments at Schneider Electric. #Cybersecurity #OTCybersecurity #ProductSecurity #Innovation Andre Shori Britto Sidhan Klaus Jaeckle Harish Shankar

Last week, the Schneider Electric team participated in the #LATAMCISO24 summit in Guanacaste, Costa Rica, organized by #DigiAmericas. Over 200 CISOs, government delegates, analysts, and experts from 20+ countries gathered to discuss cybersecurity. Patrick Ford represented Schneider Electric on the panel “LATAM Cyber Threat Overview: risks & responses.” We explored the current cyber threat landscape in Latin America, evolving risks, and effective response strategies. Key points: - Threat actors use Latin America as a testing ground before targeting larger economies. - Lack of cybersecurity talent is a major obstacle. - IT skills don’t necessarily translate into cyber skills. - Training and development in cybersecurity, including communication and partnering, are needed. - The private sector is essential in cybersecurity. - Public-private cooperation is crucial for sharing information and formulating deterrence mechanisms. - Communicating cyber risks to business leaders requires speaking in financial terms. - Use existing frameworks and standards for emerging digital and cyber policies, adapting them with regional specifics. Thanks to Belisario Contreras and Ari Schwartz for their leadership. It was inspiring to see everyone come together to protect our digital future. At Schneider Electric, we are proud to be part of the DIGI America alliance, committed to innovation and collaboration in cybersecurity. #CyberSecurity #AI #Innovation #Collaboration #PuraVida #SchneiderElectric #ThoughtLeadership

Virtually all major facilities possess aging systems built for specialized purposes that may be vulnerable to cybersecurity threats. Just a few minutes of downtime on the factory floor can cause significant disruptions to production resulting in millions in losses. Beyond financial costs, outdated infrastructure can be the root of safety hazards for people impacted by operational disruptions. At Schneider Electric, CISOs and our teams are proactively implementing systems to minimize the risks of legacy operational technology. Learn more about legacy OT initiatives to tackle this critical topic in a blog written by our APAC Chief Information Security Officer Andre Shori.
