Last month, one of our #RegisteredApprenticeship Sponsors Fortified Academy and Fortified Development Trucking celebrated their partnership with Emily Griffith Technical College to build a network of highly skilled CDL drivers through their apprenticeship programs. Fortified is a ScaleUp and BuildUp Grantee that is doing great work to remove barriers for new CDL drivers, produce high-quality diverse apprentices, and help apprentices explore the path of business ownership. 🎉 We're thrilled to share the Public Sector Apprenticeships Toolkit by The Council of State Governments (CSG). 🔍 This comprehensive resource empowers public sector organizations to leverage apprenticeships for workforce development. From implementation strategies to success stories, this toolkit equips you with the tools you need to thrive in today's dynamic landscape. 🤝 In 2022, we partnered with CSG to develop a Colorado-specific public sector apprenticeship toolkit that provided guidance on expanding the number of RAPs offered by Colorado state agencies. Since then, Jared Polis has signed Executive Order D 2023-016, further instructing the Colorado Department of Labor and Employment and Colorado Department of Personnel & Administration to increase the number of RAPs in state agencies by 50% by June 2024. 🔗 Explore the toolkit now: https://lnkd.in/esEXXtyb #COApprenticeship #apprenticeshipswork #futureofwork
“Like most sectors of our economy, state governments face workforce challenges. While state employment can provide many opportunities for growth and career success, state leaders must create pathways for people to pursue public service,” said David Adkins, CSG executive director/CEO. We're celebrating the launch of the CSG Public Sector Apprenticeship Toolkit, designed to equip state and local government leaders and human resources professionals to effectively develop, launch and sustain registered apprenticeship programs to fill talent shortages. Initially a years-long partnership with Apprenticeship Colorado, this toolkit has been adapted from the original Colorado guide to serve as a resource for state, county and city governments across the country. A special thank you to Ascendium Education Group for their support of this project and their continued support in addressing workforce challenges. #PublicSectorApprenticeship #Apprenticeship #Workforce https://lnkd.in/esEXXtyb

✨ Event Highlight ✨ Our Outreach Specialist Debbie Shackelford collaborated with Colorado Springs School District 11 to orchestrate an engaging event for National Youth Apprenticeship Week. It was a gathering that brought together local employers, apprentices, dedicated staff, and over 130 enthusiastic students. This event was not just about networking, it was about laying the groundwork for the future. With initiatives like HB23-1212 in mind, which aims to foster awareness of registered apprenticeships among high school students in Colorado, events like these become pivotal in shaping tomorrow's workforce. Much gratitude to all who participated and supported this endeavor. Together, we are paving the way for a brighter future for our youth and our communities.
