At the 2024 Coal & Energy Transition Day, I had the privilege of discussing the importance of a balanced energy mix for South Africa's energy future.    It's not about choosing between renewables and coal, but about integrating both to ensure a just transition. We're a living embodiment of this just transition, demonstrating that coal and renewables can coexist and complement each other effectively.   All countries are adopting energy mixes that incorporate multiple generation technologies. This balanced approach not only ensures energy security but also supports the economic stability of regions historically dependent on coal.    By progressively introducing renewable energy sources, we are paving the way for a sustainable energy landscape that meets our nation's diverse energy needs.   Our collaboration with Seriti Resources, exemplified by Mike Teke and myself sharing the stage, is a testament to this balanced approach.
