Strategic consulting professional focused on community revitalization

The Englewood neighborhood on Chicago's south side illustrates the historic legacy of white flight and disinvestment, along with the start-stop-start nature of public initiatives. It's common for incoming administrations to try to jump-start investment on an election cycle, but that's not how these things work. It can sometimes be hard to see immediate impact, but that's because community revitalization is a marathon, not a sprint. Partners like the Cook County Land Bank, City of Chicago, and community investment organizations are stacking resources in Englewood to fuel positive change. In this latest example, it's by facilitating property transfers and rehabs to bring back the home ownership rate in Englewood. This effort stacks on past strategies, including conveying vacant lots to community groups for gardens and programs, attracting anchor tenants to a revitalized shopping mall, and improving public transit and infrastructure.

“When you rehab one or two houses on a block, you just don’t affect that block. You impact the neighborhood and community.” - Jessica Caffrey, Executive Director Most of our inventory is in Englewood, and CCLBA is offering a sale on more than 100 vacant lots. Go to the link below to learn more about how the sale will create community wealth and provide opportunities for aspiring homeowners.🏡🌇 #CookCountyLandBank https://bit.ly/3K3xcUd
