Our annual MDT E3 Conference, held last month, was designed to engage, educate and evolve our strong community of credit unions – and let’s just say, mission accomplished. This year’s conference was a huge success, thanks in no small part to our MDT colleagues, business partners and clients. Nearly 300 attendees and over 60 credit unions came together at The Westin in Southfield, Michigan, for a unique blend of educational sessions, networking opportunities, and service exploration specifically tailored to our credit union clients. Here’s what made this year’s event truly exceptional.

Knowledge is Power

Education is the cornerstone of progress, and we are proud that the 2024 MDT E3 experience delivered on this regard. We hosted over 40 insightful sessions, covering a wide array of topics relevant to credit unions today. From understanding the latest regulatory changes to emerging technologies and innovative member engagement strategies, these sessions equipped attendees with knowledge, skills and examples to help them grow and succeed.

We were also honored to host several special guests; Patty Corkery from the Michigan Credit Union League (MCUL) kicked off the event by addressing key challenges and opportunities for credit unions. And, John San Filippo, co-founder of Finopotamus, was onsite to conduct interviews with MDT executives and credit union clients.

Fostering Genuine Human Connection

We heard loud and clear that clients wanted more opportunities to connect in relaxed, informal settings – and we took action. From swinging it at TopGolf Auburn Hills to embarking on a Detroit River tour aboard the Ovation Yacht, this year’s off-site events provided attendees with the ideal environment to forge deeper connections, exchange ideas, and foster collaboration in a more relaxed atmosphere.

Highlighting Availability, Service and Navigating the Fintech Ecosystem

New this year, we had MDT booths at the event focused on three critical areas: availability, service and navigating the fintech ecosystem. Each booth had a unique theme to highlight our comprehensive range of offerings, including consulting services, fintech solutions, software & data services, and engineering. This allowed attendees to gain deeper insights into our departments and services, as well as get to know the people who work within those areas.

Looking Ahead

Closing out the event, we were thrilled to announce that next year’s conference will take place May 19-21, 2025 at The Westin Book Cadillac in Downtown Detroit with the new theme of “Engage | Educate | Elevate.” This new location provides more space to accommodate our growth while also celebrating our Detroit roots, which we are extremely proud of.

The 2024 MDT E3 conference was one for the books, and we are already looking forward to 2025. The credit union community is stronger together, something we had the opportunity to witness firsthand as so many of us came together last month to collaborate. Thank you to all who participated and contributed to making this event a remarkable one. We can’t wait to see you next year!
