We hold the seeds of tomorrow.

Vegetables. Rice. Wheat.
Even if their seeds are sown one day,
they won’t yield a harvest the next.
The same is true for agriculture,
which cannot be perfected overnight.
It faces a variety of challenges,
including climate change and food issues.
But today, we hold the seeds needed to overcome
these obstacles and create a better future.

To help these seeds grow, we need to keep learning.
Human beings have always developed solutions,
improved technologies, and supported the circle of life.
Now, we must consider what we can do today
for the future of the Earth and humanity,
then put that into practice, one step at a time.

To eat is to live,
and to raise crops is to nurture life itself.
That’s why what we do today nurtures the lives
of those in future generations who are yet to come.

Laboratory for future of “Food and Agriculture”that are friendly to the Earth and to people. - Kubota Germination Lab -

A laboratory addressing the wishes of people and the social issues by considering planetary-conscious “Food and Agriculture.”

We aim to create this area where will be a place for the “germination” of insights and new ideas for the future of "Food and Agriculture," which have evolved alongside humanity and connected lives.

Messages

Life and “Food and Agriculture” are connected from the past to the present and into the future, and you yourself are someone taking on a role in that.

Recognizing the importance of considering the entire food system from production to consumption, as well as the essential role of technology in supporting it.

Collaborative creation by people of diverse backgrounds will lead to the future of “Food and Agriculture.”

Contents

The future of “Food and Agriculture” will be shown to the visitors in a display combining an over 20-meter wide awning screen and a huge LED monitor.

Visitors will experience a society that balances diverse needs and sustainable food systems, achieved by fully unmanned and autonomous agricultural machinery and an advanced data platform.

At the center of the exhibition area, visitors will be able to play a simulation game as future farmers themed around “Food and Agriculture.”

We are planning to create an experience where not only the players, but also other visitors, can enjoy the game together.

We plan to hold collaborative opportunities for considering the future of “Food and Agriculture” centered around the next generation.

Throughout the period before and during the Expo, we plan to hold collaborative opportunities both in offline and online.

Future City Overview

To the city of happiness.

What and who are cities for?
What kind of “value” will Society 5.0 bring us?
The exhibition will provide an opportunity for visitors to contemplate a variety of questions
and to consider with us the vision of the future city through an exhibition in which the cyber
and physical fields are mutually linked and fused.

Our ideal is happiness for each and every person, leaving no one behind.
To that end, the arena that humanity must work together to find is the Future City.
