National World has announced the expanded the distribution of its TV channel Shots! by launching on the new Freely platform. Shots! joins broadcasters BBC, ITV, C4 and C5 on Freely, and is now broadcasting on Freely channel 565.
In addition, National World says Shots! has secured an improved Freeview listing at channel 262, effective from 21st August 2024.
National World Executive Director John Rowe said: “A year after launch, Shots! has carved out a distinctive position on Freeview and our own VoD destination, based on a fast growing output of sport, true crime and the quirkier side of UK life. Although Freely will be a slow burn in terms of new TV penetration of the market, we believe it’s a great opportunity for an increasingly level playing field and easy access to cutting edge programming for viewers. Shots! is now producing a 24/7 schedule of programming from the National World network. We have over 100 documentaries and 30 true crime specials in our catalogue, as well as a raft of weekly sport shows.”
Shots! is National World’s first TV channel, launched in 2023 and broadcasting on Freeview, with VoD on www.ShotsTV.com. Shots! uses content drawn from National World’s network of over 600 journalists and packaged for a TV audience. The publisher says its key programming pillars include football talk shows, true crime investigations and on the ground reporting featuring people and places around the UK.
