Investment Intern – London

CapVest has successfully raised five funds of an aggregate sum of approximately €5.5 billion with a further €2.6 billion of additional capital raised alongside these funds.

The investment activity of CapVest is led by Seamus Fitzpatrick (Managing Partner and Co-Founder), together with the following Partners: Kate Briant, Christopher Campbell, Jason Rodrigues, Timothy Colson, Othmane Khelladi and Fred Raikes, who have an average tenure at CapVest of 16 years. CapVest has a highly experienced and stable team, which has developed deep networks in its target markets and sectors.

The firm has a regulatory office in Dublin and an investment office in New York to support investment activities and portfolio companies in North America. Both the employee base and its portfolio companies are highly international.

Job Role Description

We are offering an opportunity to have a real-life Private Equity Analyst / Associate experience and gain early exposure to the sector. Working directly with the Deal Team, the intern will engage in a wide array of tasks which may include:

  • Assisting the Deal Team members in new deal opportunities assessment process including target screening, due diligence, market research, industry analysis, investment thesis articulation, business plan evaluation, valuation and LBO modelling.

  • Contributing to live deals process management including debt raise, coordination between stakeholders, team and IC updates and fund flows.

  • Supporting value creation activities within various portfolio companies including performance analysis, projects evaluation and application and enhancement of the CapVest Toolbox.

Candidate Profile

  • A strong academic background in a leading university, typically in one of the following fields of study; finance, mathematics, management or engineering

  • At least 3 months experience (or Summer Internship) in Investment Banking, Strategy Consulting, or Private Equity.

  • Prior post-graduate full-time work experience and/or a graduate school degree in business or finance (MBA, MSc) are a strong plus.

Specific Skills

  • Excellent analytical and numerical capabilities

  • Competence in financial modelling (this will be tested as part of the recruitment process)

  • Ability to work autonomously and to take initiative

  • Ability to work in a high pressure environment

  • Strong drafting and precise/concise communication skills and be able to interact well in a team environment

  • Demonstrate strong attention to detail

  • Ability to perform tasks accurately and deliver outputs on time, in full and to a high level of quality
