Boise elopement company ties the knot with sale to digital wedding giant

The Knot Worldwide, which says it uses a variety of platforms to help couples plan weddings, snapped up a Boise company.

The Knot Worldwide announced it acquired Simply Eloped – a Boise-based company founded in 2016 that allows couples to purchase customized elopement and microwedding packages ranging from $450 to $5,500.

“We strive to be the go-to platform for all couples, no matter their wedding size, style, budget or location. Today’s microwedding and elopement couples are increasingly seeking to personalize their celebrations,” The Knot Worldwide CEO Tim Chi said. “We are combining forces with Simply Eloped to provide these couples the end-to-end support and talented vendor network they need to make their dreams a reality, while introducing new business opportunities for vendors.”

Simply Eloped and The Knot Worldwide

Simply Eloped allows couples to pick their guest amount with elopements having up to 15 guests. The microwedding option, on the other hand, can include up to 50 people. The platform then matches couples with vendors in over 30 unique destinations. In Idaho, for example, there are two destinations available: Boise and Sun Valley with a total of 10 venues to choose from.

“For us, weddings are all about celebrating the unique love story of each couple, free from outside pressures,” Simply Eloped Director and General Manager Janessa White said. “Whether it’s a quiet moment in the mountains or a lively celebration, our mission has always been to empower couples to embrace what feels right for them.”

While The Knot Worldwide acquired Simply Eloped the company will continue to be led by White and will function within The Knot Worldwide’s portfolio of other wedding planning brands including WeddingWire and The Bump – a website for pregnancy and parenting.

“I’m proud of what we’ve achieved at Simply Eloped over the past 8 years, and we remain the best elopement and microwedding platform in the U.S. With The Knot Worldwide’s support, we can now reach even more couples and offer our personalized approach to wedding planning on a larger scale,” White said. “I’m confident that together with The Knot Worldwide, we’ll continue to innovate and provide couples with unforgettable wedding experiences.”
