You have the power to superpower your teammates.
We love you, Emma!

You have the power to superpower your teammates.

Most of you know that I am a HUGE Warriors fan, and Stephen Curry is my hero. (I even have pristine, unopened 8 year-old Steph Wheaties boxes hidden in my closet. Yep. I’m owning up to it.). If you are a Curry fan, the new film about him, “Underrated”, is a must see. Other than it being way too short (I would have rather it have been 1,000 hours long), it was incredibly inspiring to look back into his early days, when few believed he would amount to much. I know so much of Steph Curry’s story already, so it was just a fun watch for me while I was working on some other stuff.

But something Stephen says in the middle of the movie stopped me in my tracks.

“The confidence of your team is your superpower.”

Wait.

Steph performs better on the court because his team trusts him and believes in him?

When I think back to all the places where I have done my best work or risen to my highest level of achievement, I can point to a boss or coach or Board and a team of co-workers who totally believed in me. Now, they also pushed me, pointed out areas for me to grow, and worked with me to improve. (I was also open to that help – surely another key piece of the puzzle.) But I bet that if you think back to your own personal best moments, you felt confidence literally flowing into you from the people around you.

As the “coach” of this GOODLES team, I cannot say often enough how proud I am of this tiny but mighty leadership team. With Steph's words in mind, I am inspired to say it again right here and right now!

Paul Earle , you are my perfect partner – always dreaming, lifting, adding, and poking me -- all of us -- in the best possible ways. Together we can get through anything! Miss MOLLY MICHET! You are a master. I love how you light up with every new challenge and how you bring business savvy, structure, and calming energy to all that you touch. There is nothing you can’t NAIL. Deborah Luster , you shine so brightly in all that you do, and I’ve never known anyone so generous or genuine with kind words for others. Gregory Peterson , no matter what CPG scaling life throws our way, you are like a cat and you make sure we always land on our feet. How you effortlessly execute the now AND tee us up for success in the future all at the same time is simply inspiring. Miss Gal Gadot (again, you should be on LInkedIn, now! We've made a "professional business person" out of you!), everyone sees how hard you work for GOODLES in front of the camera, but what they don't see is all you do behind the scenes. The hard work. The un-glamorous work. Thank you for being all-in with us! Heather Wood , you are at the center of almost everything that marketing, brand and innovation touches. That’s no accident -- you are essential. GOODLES doesn't go without Woodles! Dan Chodrow , your impact on this company is unmistakable. Your intellectual structure and logical rigor are what keep this brand on track. Your bizarre brain which generates crazy ideas and the perfect words are what keeps this brand weird and wonderful.

And yesterday, as you may have seen in our GOODLES post, which is jam-packed with gooder news, we officially announce and welcome some new additions to the GOODLES leadership team!

Stacie Hajduk may be our “new” CMO but we’ve worked together over two companies now, you've been here since the very start, and, Stace, there is no one in the world who can lead our particular breed of marketing as well as you can – a mix of strategically structured and tactically crazy. We are so lucky to have your keen mind, incredible leadership, and immense talent. Nathan Lord , our new CFO – welcome! You told me before you started that you wanted to do the best work of your life here, and I see you keeping that promise each and every day. Thank you for guiding us straight and true! John Casey is our new SVP of Sales! Woohoo!!! We met so many people in our search for “the one”. These last few months on the job -- watching you plan, forecast, lead, present, coach and navigate all this immense growth -- just confirms that you are the one, Neo. I have loved traveling with you, having dinner with you, cooking mac with you, laminating with you, pitching with you ... and winning with you.

Every single person on the GOODLES team -- thank you for being here, arms locked, doing this challenging but rewarding work. You never cease to amaze me! Jeremy Brooks , Ali Punzalan , Christine Elders , Alejandra Allen , Gregory Byrd Jr , Nikki Nell , Madeline A. Zolezzi , Shan Li , Natalie Marchionni , Brant Castro , Naida Lindberg , Virginia Urdiales , Brynn Rodriguez , Edward Foster , Bob Ziegler , Abraham Beach - thank you. You all do so much for GOODLES. I'm sure at the ends of days, you take a deep breath and say "Oh my gosh! What would they do without me?!!!" The answer is: I DON'T KNOW WHAT WE'D DO WITHOUT YOU. I actually don't want to have to even think about it.

One thing I do know, though: together, we can do anything.

If you are a leader, a coach, a friend or a teammate and if you have confidence in your team, TELL THEM!!! Right now! Your belief may become their superpower.

Nicely woven point and tribute, Jen! (Also a Warriors fan - wasn't even a basketball fan until Steve Kerr's team showed us what teamwork looked like.) (I missed Phil Jackson's teams, for that.)
