STEM Partnerships Forum

STEM Partnerships Forum

It was my great pleasure to represent RDA - Hunter and Maitland Grossmann High School at the STEM Partnerships Forum today at Parliament House Canberra. Chaired by Alan Finkel Australia's Chief Scientist the forum was designed to bring together leaders from Industry and the Education sector to facilitate a more strategic approach to school-based partnerships with businesses and Industry across Australia in order to develop the engagement, aspiration, capability and attainment of students with STEM.

Other presenters included Simon Birmingham, Minster for Education and Training, Dr Michele Bruniges Secretary for Department of Education and Training, Maureen Dougherty President Boeing Australia, Sally-Ann Williams Google and Dr Alan Finkel.

The forum will facilitate more efficient and effective partnerships between industry and the education sector and will provide advise to Education Ministers.

This is all highly commendable. Unfortunately there is the large problem of mis spelling. It should be STEAM. The Arts are totally and to our everlasting shame, missing!
