Interview with The smarter E 2024 AWARD winner: Revolutionary Energy Project
As we close out The smarter E 2024, we highlight one key achievement: the AWARD winners 🏆. Oliver Schmidt, co-founder of dvlp.energy, showcased an innovative platform simplifying renewable energy project development. His web-based GIS tool provides vital data on grid infrastructure, land values, and protected areas, streamlining site management for PV, wind, and battery storage projects. With plans to enhance grid connection access, this tool is set to accelerate the energy transition.
Brazil's Largest University Microgrid Powers Unicamp
Brazil’s largest microgrid, CampusGrid, has been officially launched at the State University of Campinas (Unicamp). Combining a 565 kW solar system with a 1 MW battery energy storage system (BESS), it provides up to two hours of autonomy and ensures energy security with a natural gas generator. The $7.7 million project, developed with CPFL Energia, enhances sustainability, energy efficiency, and saves Unicamp around BRL 450,000 annually. This microgrid also serves as a living laboratory for future energy applications, with potential for replication in various sectors.
With this milestone, Brazil continues to lead the energy transformation in Latin America, demonstrating a strong commitment to sustainable energy solutions. ☀️
Expert Interview With Felix Krause: The E-Mobility Market Is Set for a Strong Comeback in the Next Year
