Self-Insured Group, Saves Best-In-Class Cannabis Operators, 30% on Workers Compensation Premiums

For over 16 years, a California Self-Insured Group (HISIG) has continued to prove that culture drives safety. As a result, organizations focusing on creating a healthy culture will characteristically have a safe work environment, resulting in lower claim frequency. 

This is why HISIG members pay worker's compensation premiums 20% to 50% below the market rate. Additionally, the group has paid an annual dividend of 7-10% for the last five years. 

HISIG was founded in 2005 for the home improvement industry and flower and plant nurseries. Five years ago, they added cannabis via Nine Point Strategies, and currently, the Group has over 250 member-owners and protects over 10,000 workers.

HISIG controls costs for cannabis operators as Workers' Compensation premiums begin to escalate.

Group Members receive service and support on claims and safety issues unavailable anywhere else – dedicated loss control, specialized training, immediate response on service requests, a dedicated claims team, and access to an employment attorney and an OSHA safety consultant.

On average, Group Members see pricing that is 30% less than the Guaranteed Cost Market, i.e., SCIF, Protective, Atlas, Benchmark, Berkshire Hathaway, Prefered Employers, etc.
