Self-Esteem, Essence of Life.
1982 school Scout Jamburi in Chandigarh the planned city of India, I remember, we 4 students were among the 500 plus students of the school Kendriya Vidyalaya who were selected for this scout and guide camp to be held in Chandighar. 1st from left is now an Army Colonel. Vikas Tripathi, 2nd from left is Me, Anand Kulkarni, Life, and Business Coach, Teacher Anantcharya sir, Principal P.Venkateshwaralu Sir, Teacher Maniar Sir, Girl Guide Afaq Khan a teacher in Kendriya Vidyalaya, and Vinod Choudhury a homemaker now in the USA.
Representing the school at the expense of the school and being selected from among the 500 odd students was indeed a morale booster, Whenever an incident of this type happens in any individual's life that itself triggers positive emotions, the self-esteem is boosted, a series of such incidences get stored in the subconscious mind and comes to rescue whenever later one needs during the lifetime, As a coach, we utilize these resources to help the individual connect back to the original quality which has been lost due to various negative incidents in the life.
Sometime back I underwent an incident and I was feeling I was losing my Self Esteem, and the incident was so powerfully affecting me that I started doubting my own capability and was having self-doubts, negative emotions were at play and inaction took over. Procrastination is the result and everything which you could have done easily and with confidence goes had gone for a toss.
This photograph brought back my self-esteem and I was able to bounce back to action.
Do you have such a reservoir of positive incidences in life along with a few photos or achievements in the form of certificates, trophies, or appreciation letters? if yes do treasure them and frequently visit them to keep your morale high and also to take you to the next level of growth in your life.
If you do not have then I suggest recollecting a few incidents that have shown you your self worth, the help that you did to someone, the smile that you brought on someone's face, the solace that you gave to the deserving, the kind act that you did of offering a seat to the pregnant lady or old man, etc.
Keep doing these small acts of kindness, God knows when these small acts can come to our rescue to support you.
Can you put your 1-2 incidents that help you boost your self-esteem? , this exercise will I am sure be helpful at an appropriate time, do take the efforts and comment below.
